

Avery Rosser, Ph.D., NCC, LPC, CPCS, ACS
Dr. Rosser is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor with a wealth of experience in counseling. He holds a Master's degree in Community Counseling from Columbus State University and has earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from the University of Georgia. His status evidences Dr. Rosser's commitment to professional development as a National Board for Certified Counselor Minority Doctoral Fellow, a recognition of his dedication to advancing his education, skills, and community advocacy efforts.

As a specialist in mood disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, trauma and stress-related disorders, moral injury, anxiety disorders, men's issues, and race-based trauma, Dr. Rosser has a broad range of experience in helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds overcome their challenges. He has advanced training in several therapeutic modalities, including Collaborative Couples Training, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Advanced Safety Planning Intervention (ASPI), Problem-solving therapy for suicide prevention (PST-SP), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for suicide prevention (CBT-SP).

Denise Hawkins, Ph.D., NCC
Dr. Denise L. Hawkins, Ph.D., NCC, marks her 15th year as a high school counselor at Grayson High School, having begun her career as a middle school counselor in Long Beach, California, in 2005. Her counseling approach is grounded in Reality Therapy, with recent integration of Relational Cultural Theory (RCT) to enhance relationship building. She also utilizes Hope Theory’s agency and pathway techniques to support goal setting with her students. Driven by a deep commitment to education, Dr. Hawkins takes a holistic approach to addressing student needs, empowering parents through her monthly Parent Chat, and leading initiatives such as peer leadership and freshman mentoring. At the core of her philosophy is the belief that authentic connection and meaningful relationships are transformative in education.

Beyond Grayson High, Dr. Hawkins has established herself as a leader in the counseling field. She holds degrees from Argosy University, California State University, and Chapman University and earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from the University of Georgia. Her commitment to excellence is reflected in recognitions such as the Chi Sigma Iota award and the Dr. Patty Diversity Fellow honor. In 2023, she expanded her impact through roles at Couch Middle School, the Georgia School Counselor Association, and continued academic involvement at the University of Georgia.

On a personal note, Dr. Hawkins is a proud mother of three and prioritizes self-care, especially through her love for hot yoga, as a vital part of maintaining balance and well-being.

Courtney Shaw, APC, NCC
Courtney is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate the journey of healing after life-altering experiences. At We Climb Counseling & Consulting, she works closely with clients recovering from personal injuries, trauma, and major life transitions, offering both emotional support and practical tools for rebuilding confidence and stability.

With a background in trauma-informed care and child and family therapy, Courtney blends traditional therapeutic approaches with creative techniques such as art, storytelling, and mindfulness. Her sessions focus on emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience; meeting each client exactly where they are and guiding them toward meaningful progress.
